2008 Workshop. HOWDY PARDNERS! We had a rip-roarin’ good time at the “Best Little Workshop in Texas” this year! The fun started Thursday evening, April 17th with an open dance party. The Workshop was Friday, April 18th, and continued on Saturday afternoon, April 19th, in the ballroom of the Farmers Branch Senior Center. Check this video to relive some of the fun! See y’all next year at the 2009 Workshop.

A Big Thank-You to Everyone! Now, back to the 2008 Workshop. We want to thank all them cattle rustlers, horse thieves, gamblers, flim flammers, and ladies of… uh, well, you know… that showed up at the event. Seemed like everybody thar was a wanted outlaw…lessen, of course, they claim it was a long-lost relative whose picture was up on them wanted posters!
Even with such questionable characters in attendance, the Workshop was a huge success and we owe a great big THANKS! to everybody who attended. We have a loyal following of Texas and non-Texas participants whose support enables us to continue every year to hold this special event that presents and teaches the dances nominated to be a part of the Texas Line Dance Jamboree. It was a very special group of teachers and students who attended the Workshop and we want you to know we are extremely grateful for your presence. There were many newcomers on the scene and that was a tremendous boost for us. Not only did we have new people from Texas, but also from Kansas, Mississippi, Florida, Oklahoma, and Washington state!!! |

Workshop Memories. We’ve put together a collection of scenes from this year’s Workshop and hope you will enjoy looking at them and remembering the fun weekend we had together... click on the thumbnail for a larger picture. Several people voiced the sentiment that even though the dances selected and the teaching and the craaaaazy art work and the entertainment were terrific, those things were not the most important. What was uppermost in importance was the people who gathered together—and the renewing of old friendships and the making of new friendships. That was the most valued part of the Workshop. |
