2011 Open Dances.  Open dances will be done during the Thursday evening dance and during breaks at the Workshop.  The list is now final... see the table below.

 

The open dance guidelines are:

  • You can request up to 10 dances.  

  • Requests need to be made before the Workshop so we can make our list and get the music together.  Please send the dance name, choreographer, and if possible, the music (or from whom we can obtain the music, i.e. name and email address) to our deejay, Jill Polich, msmuffet54@gmail.com,  with a copy to Nikki Simpson, rockinredrodeo@verison.net.

  • Please try to choose “floor fillers” or dances that you think most people will know.  We want as many people as possible on the dance floor at all times!!!

  • Our play list will be based on the number of requests for each dance.  The order of dances in the list below is based on requests.  The playlist may vary slightly.  In general, the dances at the top of the list will be used before the dances at the bottom of the list.

  • No 2011 Workshop dances will be danced in open dance until they have been introduced at the Workshop, in other words, none on Thursday evening.

  • As time and circumstances allow, we will do our very best to play a many as possible of the open dance requests at the Thursday evening dance and during the Workshop.

 

Open Dances for Workshop 2011.  The left hand column below lists the Open Dances for the Workshop.  This list includes the top 54 dances that were submitted.  These dances received 2 or more "votes".  Usually, we're able to do about 40 open dances during the Workshop which is why only 54 are listed.  We will try our best to do as many as possible  The dances are ranked in alphabetical order according to popularity.  We reserve the right to mix the order according to level, rhythm, tempo, etc.  Please note we will not do the nominated Workshop dances Thursday evening.  We will do them after they are introduced at the Workshop.

 

The right hand column below is the list of dances nominated but without enough "votes" to make it to the Open Dance List.
